VISION FOR ANGOLA
The Issues That Matter to Angola
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
I have been consistently involved with the City Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals to facilitate rezoning and annexing areas of the city to create affordable housing developments. Angola currently has four (4) apartment projects underway and we are close to capacity on our available sites for single-family housing. I plan to work with area developers and our City planning staff to establish new locations for expanded neighborhoods. I have also been involved in strategic planning discussions with numerous community partners to expand downtown housing opportunities.
EXPANSION OF CITY PARKS
I worked with the Angola City Parks Department and the YMCA to facilitate the launching of the Sheets Family Park which will include the Splash Pad. I plan to work with our Park Board to take on this new challenge without impacting the resources needed for our legacy parks.
CITY SIDEWALKS AND PATHS
I have been involved with the Bike Path since its inception, working with county, state and local entities to complete it from its starting point to Pokagon State Park. I now want to work to establish sidewalks from each of our newest housing subdivisions on the north side of town to connect them with the Bike Path and other City sidewalks.

- EXPERIENCE MATTERS -

INFRASTRUCTURE MAINTENANCE
I am acutely aware of the impending need to repair and replace Angola’s aging sewer and water systems. I have assisted with funding and planning for projects related to the City’s sewer system. In addition, I am experienced in working with IDEM to maintain environmentally responsible operations.
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
I was involved in the public/private partnership of the industrial development at I-69 that resulted in the Wingate Hotel. I want to continue the in-house push to find an industrial technology partner to be the anchor of this industrial park. This will allow us to target high-end wage employment opportunities.
FIRE PROTECTION COST SHARING
After successfully negotiating with Pleasant Township over the past three (3) years, I established a program to equitably share the cost of fire protection when the City’s fire department serves areas outside of the City’s tax district. I believe it is critical for us to protect our beautiful lakes region and other County townships, but it is critical that we extend this cost-sharing model to the other county townships.
